What are the
differences between Tabular and
Graphical weather data?
A.
Tabular is weather information in
text form and Graphical is the same
information displayed as a picture.
Normally drawn in the form of
weather charts or as photographs
such as satellite images.
Q.
How can I get automated weather
briefings for my office?
A.
Skyplan can arrange for
automated, pre-formatted weather
briefings to be sent to a
destination of your choice. We have
the ability to send the briefing via
Fax, Email, SITA, ARINC and/or AFTN
networks.
Q.
Will Skyplan
notify me of any new
weather warnings that I need to be
aware of for my trip?
A.
We can arrange for Weather
Warnings to be forwarded to a
location of your choice
automatically.
Q.
How
accurate are Skyplan's Weather maps?
A.
We receive our weather charts
directly from NOAA, so as long as
NOAA is up to date then we will be
as well.
Q.
How can I get a simple adhoc weather
briefing?
A.
If you require an adhoc weather
briefing and do not have an active
account setup with Skyplan, you will
need to contact Skyplan's Sales
department where you can setup an
account or purchase a single adhoc
weather request.
If you have an account and have
been setup by Skyplan, you can
receive a briefing by using either
the "Quick weather" function on CTO
2000 or when requesting a flight
plan by using the pre-formatted
weather briefing option on the
flight plan request form.
Q.
How extensive are the weather
briefings?
A.
Weather briefings are
as simple or extensive
based on the
requirements of the
user. A simple request
could be for just Metars
and Tafs, a more
complicated briefing
could include and are
not limited to:
Metars
Tafs
Notams
Enroute weather
Sigmets
Area forecasts
pireps
weather warnings
Each briefing is
custom tailored to your
needs and requirements
regarding your aircraft,
location and/or
specifics you request.
Q.
I made a weather
request, but haven't received a response?
A.
First, make sure you are receiving
other traffic on your SITA/ARINC/E-Mail
gateway. If this is working properly,
then ensure that you specified "WXREQ"
on the first line of the request.
