Posted: September 22, 2004

Q. Can I submit a Flight Plan or does Skyplan submit it for me?
A.

CTO 2000 allows the user to submit the flight plan request, it also allows the user to file the ATC flight plan through Skyplan's link to the AFTN network.

Q. Do you have a standard form to fill in for Flight Plans?
A.

CTO 2000 is based on templates, simply fill in the required fields and submit the request to the flight planning system. With as little as six (6) inputs a basic flight plan can be generated.

Q. What different formats for flight plans are available?
A.

We have many different formats available for use, basically we will build a format to meet your airline requirements.

Q. Do I need to purchase a package to submit a flight plan or can I do one adhoc?
A.
We have various ways of billing based on per flight plan request or flat rated. You will need to setup an account with Skyplan to receive your flight plan request. At that time you can make a choice of per request or flat-rate which you can change at any time.
Q. Is CTO Flight Planning a product or a service?
A.
Actually CTO Flight Planning is more of a service than a product. You request a Flight Plan [product] through Email, SITA, or ARINC [service] and the Flight Plan [product] is returned using the same medium [service]. CTO Flight Planning is not an actual application that you would install on your computer to run.
Q. What if I don't have all the necessary information about my aircraft or the airport I am going to?
A.
We have a constantly updated generic aircraft database which can be used for flight planning, but the flight plan results will be more accurate if we have your complete aircraft information recorded. The ICAO and/or IATA codes to the destination airport must be know to generate a flight plan. If you are uncertain of having all required information regarding your aircraft or airport, we would be happy to assist you in compiling a complete an accurate report.
Q. I made a Flightplan request, but haven't received a response?
A.

Make sure you are receiving other traffic on your SITA/ARINC/E-Mail gateway. If this is working properly, then ensure that you specified "FPREQ" on the first line of the request.
